“Human Collage”
In this activity, students create a collage using different images to illustrate what a human should be.
Throughout the novel, Jenna tries to determine whether she is human. It isn’t until she is attacked by Dane that she realizes being human isn’t the percentage of actual human parts you have, but how you treat others. Create a collage using different images to illustrate what being human means to you.
Teaching Suggestion: Consider providing students with magazines, allowing students to print images off, or having them draw the images on their own. Consider also permitting students to write the comparisons to what Jenna believes next to their image to help them deliver a smoother presentation.
